We need the support of 38 more classmates by June 30th. Please be one of them.
Judy Myers Kinsey reports that 180 of us (55.5% of 324) have contributed to Wellesley this year to date. Our percentage last year, with a special push, was a fantastic 67%. Judy says: “ There’s a special 54% challenge for all alumnae this year. If the alumnae participation reaches 54% there will be a matching $500,000 donated from a special “We are Wellesley” fund. We hope this will inspire you if you have yet to contribute.” To match our phenomenal 2014 record will require 38 more classmates. I’d certainly like to match our record! Please join us again (by June 30) with an enthusiastic contribution to Wellesley, whether large or small. Our individual participation is what counts.
The percent of alumnae who contribute to the Wellesley Fund is very important to the college. It is used as the measure of how alumnae value their education and is a factor in things like college rankings, and corporation and foundation grants. A high alumnae participation rate sends a strong message to prospective students and faculty that Wellesley has a vibrant and committed alumnae network. It's a proof point to the oft-made statement that "other people go to college for four years; with Wellesley it's for life!" To attract the very best, we need to demonstrate how Wellesley excels. We are not focusing on the amount of each gift – at this time in our lives, many of us are on fixed incomes and have to carefully manage our resources into the future. But each of us can help the college by contributing what we can.
Watch this space! 67% to match 2014!
